JMP: Installing and Configuring – Part five

In this final part of the JMP series I'm creating a JMP assignment. JMP assignments are, in my opinion, a great way to set up default configurations for your VDI or RDSH environment. With a few clicks you combine an Instant Clone pool with a set of applications and user environment settings for a complete department or even your whole company.  In this example I'm going to create baseline for my VDI environment, Which exists out of a Windows 10 Instant Clone pool, an AppStack with applications and a set of default user…continue reading →

With the JMP infrastructure all set, the time has come to configure JMP in the Management Console. Part two: Installing JMP In the previous part we've set up the database requirements for the JMP installation. The installation of JMP is, in my opinion, really easy and straight forward.  Launch the setup and click Next.  Accept the license agreement and click Next.  No, I don't want to allow HTTP traffic. Enter the name of the SQL server and JMP database. Because I configured my environment with my own SSL certificates, I selected Enable SSL connection. Click Next to continue. Click Install to start the installation. Click Finish to complete the installation. The JMP server has successfully…continue reading →

JMP: Installing and Configuring – Part One

When you talk about VMware Horizon (Instant Clones), App Volumes and User Environment Manager, you're talking about JMP. JMP (pronounced jump) stands for Just-in-Time Management Platform and represents the capabilities of a VMware Horizon 7 Enterprise environment that delivers Just-in-Time Desktops and Apps in a flexible, fast, and personalized manner. With JMP assignments integrated in the Horizon Management Console, I see some cool use-cases to manage instant clone pools, applications and settings all in one.
